Waterfall abseling in Gopeng

Objective: To abseil down a waterfall

We assembled at Gopeng toll at about 8.30am. Most of us were already there so at about 8.40am we made our way to the Gopeng town market area. We were ahead of schedule which was good I think. We had to leave our cars at Gopeng town, and board a different vehicle to get up to the waterfall area. And guess what?? Our limousine was actually a lorry. We were like cattle being transported to the kampung area of Gopeng. Some of us were in the lorry (balik kampung, ooo oooh oh balik kampung), some boarded a pick-up truck owned by one of the guys from gym. The road was small and bumpy. and it took us nearly 30 minutes to get up to the kampung area where the waterfall was.

Me and Eme making our way to the waterfall area. Sempat amek gambor lagi. Masa ni belum ada unsur2 takot lagi.

The abseil guys were late so we had to wait for them for quite some time. They only came nearly 11am. So we had a lot of time to dip in the cold water, eat, and basically just socialize. Some went up to check out the waterfall itself.

Okay, let tell you about my waterfall adventure. Looks easy but once you're up there, it was super scary. Cuba buat kalau tak percaya. It takes courage, strength and endurance. Seriously. Quite an experience. Hahaha...

Takot punyer takot, Hazrin went first before me. The brave brother in law. Phewitt...

And now the moment of truth. Guess what?? I fell and I havent even started with the abseil. The waterfall area was so slippery it was hard to move from one point to the other. We had to cross over to the other side of the river and the rocks were very slippery. Thats where I fell. Before I fell Michael fell. And this guy is a seasoned mountain climber. His was even more horrifying coz he fell from a higher point. Nasib dia ok. My problem was I couldnt climb up coz I kept on falling. (I cud hear Alicia Key's Fallin playing - if only its the right kind of falling) And the abseiling guy carried me up the rocks using my safety harness with Badlishah pulling me from up the rocks. Aduh, sakitnyer. And then, as if not enough trouble, my right foot toe decided to cramp!! Ouch ouch ouch... Nooooo... Great!! I said to the guide I couldnt walk so we rested for a while. Once Im alright, we hiked our way up the waterfall. And thats when I freaked out coz one of my friends, Serene were freakin out saying she couldnt go with it. She was screaming la wei. It was something I wouldnt want to witness just before my turn. Noooo... Patut kah aku panik??? Ya, ya memang patut. Orang tu kata theres no way out except to go tru the abseil. Orang tu tipu jer, she could always hiked down from the way she came up. Still very slippery la. At the end, they managed to convince her that one of the guides will abseil side by side with her. He may abseil beside her, but she still had to do all the work. Cuma she wouldnt be alone la. And she made it. We all cheered for her. Yay!!!

Fay and her little girl. Little Fay (dont know the girl's name) is like the little Jane of Tarzan. That girl is hyper active. Running here and there bare footed.

While waiting at the top of the waterfall, I had a conversation with Fay (my aerobics instructor/organizer all these crazy adventure), was telling her how afraid I was with the slipperiness of the waterfall wall. On top of that, I worry my toe will cramp again. I guess its due to the coldness. Just like what happened in NZ with Nana. Fay recommended me going down like Serene with the guide next beside. That way I would feel more confident. Also she told me what to do if my toe cramp again while abseiling. So I took her advise. She was after all experienced in all things extreme.

So I let her take my turn and this is Fay tengah abseil, very steady I think. Only saw her kat atas, while I was waiting for my turn. I believe she did pretty well, and she didnt fall kat atas like so many people did.

I was the last to go coz I actually requested for one of them to go side by side with me jugak. If I didnt fall of the rocks and if my toe behaved well, I would have done it without the guide beside me too. It was extremely slippery, no joke. And I was afraid my legs couldnt hold the slipperiness. At the end of it, I made it too. Of coz I fell a couple of times up there, but I wasnt the only one who fell. Ramai jatuh at the edge of the waterfall, also in the middle. Super slippery.. Many were struggling. But we all made it down. The only drawback was the condition of the waterfall wall. Hard to balance with the slime on the rocks and wall. It was quite an experience and I had fun.

This is the part I fell. And hit my knee cap. Sakit nyer!!

Would I do it again?? Perhaps, but not waterfall abseil. Maybe if I could find a good shoe to help me from falling. Sakit ok. But I would consider abseil "kering" like the one Fay did the first time. And if shes the one organizing it. The challenges with waterfall would be; the strong current, the water freezing, and the wall is slippery. Hard to find and balance your footing. Of coz one guy did pretty well, and this nyonya was awesome!! And she claimed it was her first time. Talk about beginner's luck.

Me and Serene....

Mission accomplished!!! Yay!!!

Lady Antebellum

Picture perfect memories scattered all around the floor
Reachin for the phone cause I can't fight it anymore
And I wonder if I ever crossed your mind
For me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one, I'm all alone and I need you now
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now

Another shot of whiskey can't stop looking at the door
Wishing you'd come sweeping in the way you did before
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind
For me it happens all the time

It's a quarter after one, I'm a little drunk and I need you now
Said I wouldn't call but I lost all control and I need you now
And I don't know how I can do without
I just need you now

Guess I'd rather hurt than feel nothin at all

It's a quarter after one I'm all alone and I need you now

And I said I wouldn't call but I'm a little drunk and I need you now

And I don't know how I can do without

I just need you now

I just need you now

Ooo, baby, I need you now

Birthday?? Not a fan!!

What I love about birthdays...

  • Presents - yeeehaaaaa!!! - the more the better. But the wiser you are, the lesser the gifts.
  • Having family and friends calling and wishing you - I so love it when the little ones start calling and singing. I managed to persuade my Anas and Baby Sayang to sing for me. Kak In and Adam memang nyanyi.
  • Family dinner or get together

What I dun like about birthdays...

  • Age factor - I dun like being reminded of my age. Can we ignore the number and just get straight to the wishing part?? Plus, my age stopped at 25. Hehehe...
  • The singing - I like it when the little kiddies sing for me, but not in a party style. Mari menyanyi beramai-ramai. Macam perhimpunan kat skolah dulu. Yucks... Tak hebat la camtu.
  • Going for a formal dinner party. I hate playing dress up for this kind of gatherings.

Presents so far:

Babah - blum lagi
Mak - da kasi
Bang Sham - blum lagi, tapi ader unsur2 tak kasi, i'll wait just in case
Kakak - blum lagi, macam ader unsur2 tak kasi gak, but im optimistic
Nana - akan kasi, hopefully secepat mungkin
Kak Ju - da kasi
Kak In - blanja movie ye... hehehe...
Thavanes - blum lagi, she wud usually get me something. hehehe...

I also bought something for myself!! Yes, I bought a tote bag!! Happy Birthday Didi. Phewitt... I shopped like a mad person the other day. So now budget da lari. What is a girl to do???

So, akhir kata, Suhani would like to wish Suhana a happy happy birthday. Remember, you are an amazing person. Truly kind, wonderful and warm. Errr... Did I just described myself?? Yes I did. Eh, malu la plak. Alamak. Ok lagi skali. Suhana, you are truly funny, smart and cool. Hmmm... Thats me again. Cuba lagi yek... You are truly sexy, gorgeous and beautiful inside out. Ah... Finally a better description of myself. Susah jugak nak describe Suhana. Ok ni last...

Suhana, you are truly the best in the world!!! Yay!!! Happy Birthday Babymilo...

Akhir kata, kepada sesiapa blum lagi membeli present, sila ke kedai dan jangan kedekut!!!

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the toxic_dest of them all...

Imagine just in one day I met a lot of different characters. Im talking about yesterday. Some are really nice, most of them being not so. So heres a list of the 10 toxic people in my book...

1. People who think the world of themselves!!!

2. People who like to jump to their own conclusion. If you dunno anything, just keep quiet.

3. People who think everyone else is like them. Everybody is different. So the road we choose may differ. No one person in this world are the same.

4. Negative people. People who think badly of others. Thats not good. You need to change your attitude. You may be doing certain things to hurt someone, or on purpose, that doesnt mean others have the same thinking or attitude as you. They may not do it coz they are not you.

5. Those who like to take other people's place/parking. Like this nyonya at the gym who likes to menyibuk at my spot on the gym floor. I always end up giving way to her. Maybe I should just push her the next time. The spot is taken la nyonya!!! Jangan nak menyempit.

6. The ones who think they are forever right. Everyone else are morons, he/she the only one who knows how things are done. Mr/Ms Know It All la konon2.

7. Those with huge egos!!! Who doesnt even admit when making mistakes what more to say Im sorry.

8. The ones without any sense of humour.

9. Bossy people!!!

10. Insensitive people. Certain things in life are what they are. Do not be insensitive and make remarks on that. Thats rude in my opinion.

Hmmm... A lot more in my toxic list, but Im gonna leave it as it is for the moment... Maybe cleansing could do the trick. We really need to cleanse these people so the world we live in will be a better place... Hahaha...

Ngantuknyer....

Semua orang suka tido. Bila da tido susah nak bangun. Ader pulak yang susah nak tido. Bila da tido lambat plak bangun. Some love to sleeeeppp late at night. Ntah aper yang depa buat kat depan komputer tu?? Chatting ker?? Tengok Vampire Diaries ker? Apa?? Gossip Girl?? So sok pagi susah la plak bukak mata tu. Cam mana nak kejut?? Mata da kena clamp.

1. Gerak2 kan badan si pentidor tu sambil panggil nama dia
2. Buka lampu, bukak tingkap, tutup fan/aircon, gerak seperti biasa
3. Sentap jer... (but thats not my style)
4. Pasang lagu yang sangat annoying untuk gerak orang yang syiok tido tu
5. Dudukkan si pentidor
6. Renjis skit ayor kat muka orang yang tido tu
7. Sebut nama si tido pastu cubit ibu jari kaki
8. Da teruk sangat jerit jer

I cant think of any others. But I realized, to wake one of my nieces (you know who you are) Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" would do the trick. Pasang lagu tu kuat2, dalam 10 minutes tu bangun la Sleeping Beauty tu. Ain't it amazing?? Sort of a miracle!! Ahaks... Tak yah tunggu lama2 sangat. Yes, it takes 10 mins gak. Tapi better than yang tak bangun2 tu. I guess music does help in this situation. It depends on the music gak. Some could put you back to bed. For me I think lagu annoying would be Jem and the Holograms... Pasang kuat2 memang pening!!

Aper lagi bole kite buat untuk kejut orang yang memang susah nak bangun ni?? Adakah kite patut tinggal kan ajer?? Hmmm.... Aper ye??

Should I be worried???

B/P: 118/76 (Yay!!)
Glucose: 8.3 (what??)

They tried to make me cut my sugar and I said NO, NO, NO
Yes I love sweet but when I eat chocs you'll know know know
I aint got no worry and if myself think Im fine
You tried to make cut my sugar, I wont do do do

So yesterday was the moment of truth. Blood test result.... Sugar level: 4.6!!! Yay!!!

They tried to make me cut my sugar and I said NO NO NO!! :))

But what puts a frown on my face was actually my cholesterol level. Its 5.84. Should be less than 5.2. Good news is its not more than 6.2 or else its high risk. Now Im scared!! So what to do?? Doc says take oats or high fibre. Oats?? Yeah right. Looks like puke to me. Increase exercise. Ok I think I can do that. Cut down on all deep fried food. Of coz, I really have to control my diet, which makes my food intake pretty much boring. What is it that I could eat?? No this, less that, goodbye lamby... Huhuhu... :(( Cut down not totally goodbye kan... Its like Im saying to Kris Dayanti no Botox for you. Or to Heidi Montag to stop with all the cosmetic surgery.

Not only that, I got urine infection jugak la pulak. What does it mean?? Doc wants me to:

  • Take plenty of water. So after this Mr. Toi will be my bestest friend.
  • Decrease sugar intake ( what??? but why?? there goes my love for chocs )
  • Take lots and lots of veggie and fruits (I think I can do that)

I am to disclose this info to my fellow siblings coz he said high cholesterol runs in the family. So we all have to check and control our eating habits. Thats the story of my bloody blood test!!
